Full Job Description

As the school's Food Technology teacher, you will deliver all Food Tech lessons for pupils who are accessing vocational courses and National Curriculum courses alike. The school's learning kitchen will be your domain to keep prepped for all learning and maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness. You will plan, assess, and deliver all lessons with an emphasis on practical learning and personal development. Some cover teaching, or regular teaching of none-Food Tech lessons may be part of the role but will be kept to a minimum.

You will be a qualified (QTS/QTLS) teacher or have comparable experience in the subject field, ideally, with experience of working in a special education setting with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs and other complex needs. You will have experience of teaching or leading in Food Technology or catering. You will be adept at tailoring your teaching and lessons to respond to the strengths and needs of pupils. You will be able to set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge pupils as well as promote good progress and outcomes by pupils. You will provide levels of care and support appropriate to the general needs of the children and those outlined in their EHCP's and individualised plans.
