Full Job Description
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Foreign Language Assistant, focusing in French, to join our well-respected and ambitious Modern Foreign Languages team.
Your role will be to assist with the teaching of Modern Foreign Languages by giving short conversation sessions to individual students or small groups of students, as indicated by the subject teacher or the Head of Modern Languages.
The role
+ To promote the study of languages amongst students
+ To help students to prepare for the speaking assessments at GCSE (Pearson Edexcel) and A-Level (Eduqas) by conducting conversation lessons in small groups, in line with the specification.
+ To prepare resource material for the conversation classes under the guidance of the Head of Modern Languages.
+ To keep records of each student's progress in conversation lessons and liaise with the wider department with regards to progress, problems and work of the individual student.
+ To provide regular feedback to students, in-line with the school and department marking and feedback policies.
+ Assist teaching staff in the development of learning strategies by the preparation of resources and maintaining a safe and suitable learning environment.
+ Be willing to assist teachers on excursions where appropriate.
