Full Job Description

  • To work as part of a multi-skilled team of Forensic Analytical Services Laboratory Officers (FASLO's) responsible for the processing, examination and recording of forensic exhibits within the FAS and DNA Laboratory functions, to include fingerprint and footwear recovery/enhancement and DNA examination for the 5 East Midlands Region Force and EMSOU-SOC/Major Crime Units.
  • To operate within a dynamic and fast paced environment utilising a range of specialist equipment and techniques to deliver service provision and provide specialist advice and knowledge to the wider EMSOU-FS teams, Management and customers.
  • To work within a UKAS ISO 17025 and Forensic Science Regulator Statutory Codes.

    A minimum of 2 A-Levels, Grade C or above, one of which to include chemistry or photography, and the other to be in a science discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in a forensic, photographic, or scientific support laboratory.
  • A full UK driving licence.

    Please be aware that due to the security checks required for this role you must have5 yearscontinuous residency in the UK. Salary: £26,487 - £35,982 For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
