Full Job Description

Are you an autonomous practitioner and creative thinker with experience of working with patients who have a learning disability and forensic history? If so, don't miss this opportunity to join our newly established team working across the Thames Valley in Oxfordshire.

This new post will sit under the management of the SCFT providing community-based support to people with a learning disability and autism who display behaviour that can lead to contact with the criminal justice system (such as fire-setting, physically aggressive/violent or sexually inappropriate behaviour)., To be a Senior Occupational Therapist working autonomously, as a member of the Forensic Community Learning Disability multidisciplinary team, working across Thames Valley and offering in-reach to the secure services inpatient setting.

To provide preventative, reactive, and evidence-based interventions through a combination of specialist risk assessment and management, face to face therapeutic interventions and support.

To support, training, and consultancy to other services to meet the needs of this group.

To provide specialist Occupational Therapy interventions using evidence-based client cantered principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate therapy with those service user's within the FCLD team.

To actively contribute to the development of the Occupational Therapy role and Occupational Therapy service provision according to identified needs of the multi-disciplinary team and service users needs.

The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of care, therapeutic interventions and treatment to Thames Valley Forensic Services learning disabled patients, ensuring the highest standards of care are provided. To ensure that services to patients and carers are delivered and developed according to Trust and Social and Healthcare departmental policies.
