Full Job Description

NHSE WT&E manages the education, training and development of NHS clinical professionals including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, doctors and dentists.

This post supports foundation pharmacist training across each ICS (Integrated care System) in the Midlands, working with the Pharmacy Education team. There is one post per ICS, of which there are 11 ICSs across the Midlands. This post is aligned to Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and Nottinghamshire ICSs., You will be responsible for providing professional leadership, togetherwith expertise, advice and support to:

  • Design, create and deliver appropriate teaching, learning andassessment plans to support foundation pharmacy trainees andtheir educational supervisors. Be an active key member of the foundation school contributingto the design and development of the pharmacy educationprogrammes and linking to the multi-professional school withshared common resources. Support the business planning processes to provide input intothe strategic development of the work of the department. Identify and support pharmacy trainees requiring additionalsupport. Contribute to the availability of high quality training and supportfor pharmacy practice and educational supervisors. Provide professional expertise on a specific portfolio of work Manage the provision and development of resources, servicesand opportunities for pharmacists and their educators fromacross the healthcare professions. Support

  • equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives in pharmacyeducation.
  • To have an understanding and awareness of how the activities and objectives of the department align with the wider businessplanning for NHSE Support workforce planning and workforce challenges for theICS and across the wider region.
