Full Job Description

We are looking for an analyst to join the Schroders' Financial Planning and Analysis ('FP&A') Business Partnering teams to support an exciting programme that drives commercial decision making through the development of segmental P&L's and improved cost transparency. The Finance Business Partnering teams ensure operational expenditure is well controlled, allocated and key costs drivers and methodologies are understood by the business segments and entities that use various services. An exciting programme has developed a segmental P&L as a minimum viable product, which now needs to be implemented into BAU with support from the Business Partnering teams, specifically across our Global IT, Operations, Distribution, and Marketing services. The financial analyst will play a critical role in providing the programme & Finance business partnering teams with additional capacity and experience to ensure the successful completion of this critical phase. An energetic, proactive, and self-motivated individual is required to support us to ensure the accurate allocation of costs to services and segments; help design & implement the 'to be' processes that ensure a seamless transition into BAU; and identify options to mitigate potential issues. The team Based at our HQ in London, the FP&A team is integral in driving business performance through assisting senior stakeholders with planning, strategic decision making and performance evaluation. The team also works closely with Revenue Accounting, Cost Accounting, and other operational finance teams to ensure results are correct and fit for use. You will be encouraged to develop a range of financial expertise and build your commercial awareness and acumen which will provide you with an understanding of how our business operates and underscore the critical role the FP&A function plays in strategic decision-making and financial performance management. What you'll do

  • Analysis and reconciliations: Review, reconcile and analyse outputs & collaborate with business partners and business owners to ensure charges represent appropriate allocation of costs to services and segments;
  • Support the buy-in of proposed charges and allocations: Develop insight and presentations to aid the buy-in of proposed allocations and service charges, and drive conversations to help close issues;
  • Process review and improvement: Test, identify and develop the future 'to be' processes to ensure any required finance system adjustments are agreed and implemented to ensure a simply and seamless BAU impact;
  • Governance and controls: Document agreed processes, controls, and allocation methodologies and
  • Ad hoc analysis: Provide ad hoc financial analysis as required.

    Experience in implementing cost allocation (service catalogues desirable but not mandatory) with ability to demonstrate experience in developing financial analysis & process and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure appropriateness of proposed allocations and buy-in from business users and owners;
  • Qualified with a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or international equivalent) with cost business partnering experience;
  • Strong analytical mindset supported with strong Excel (Anaplan & Power BI an advantage but not mandatory) capability and the ability to consolidate cost data into useful summaries and reports that tell a story to non-financial users;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills and proven experience dealing with a range of stakeholders, both within Finance and in the business;
  • Deliver within tight deadlines, collaborate well with others, and improve efficiency while maintaining an appropriate control framework and
  • Financial Services Industry / Investment Management experience an advantage, but not mandatory.
