Full Job Description

This is a key role within the Group, where the post holder will assist the senior management & leadership team in delivering the longer-term strategy in addition to providing the daily financial rigour as required. The role will be working across all business units, reporting into the Group Financial Controller. The position will ensure the finance professional is engaged in the strategic and operational debates whilst being able to impress senior management and stakeholders by providing high quality financial rigour and commercial interpretation on a coherent & consistent basis., The position will have responsibilities for the following:

  • Management & oversight of the group cashflow
  • Broader work involving cashflow modelling and analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly consolidation for the group
  • Financial modelling, forecasting and options analysis
  • Oversight of the annual statutory accounts process and managing the external audit
  • Tax queries and liaison with the external tax advisors
  • Supporting key stake-holders within the organisation providing financial and technical accounting support
  • Ensure robust financial controls & processes are established, well understood and being followed across the finance team
  • Supervision of a team [TBC on exact reporting lines - this depends on the level of the candidate]
  • Preparation / review of key monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Participating in and delivery of cross functional projects which improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance & operational departments
  • Undertake a role in corporate transactions - i.e. running due diligence processes
  • Project work - system changes, banking analysis, cost optimisation, integration of acquired subsidiaries etc
  • Preparation of materials (presentation packs etc) as part of investor relations work
  • Compilation & preparation of information for Board Packs and other key financial information

    Suitable for a top quartile individual - maybe a fairly recently qualified accountant, through to someone operating at Manager level in practice. Or a 2^nd time mover in industry
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified - preferably from the Big 4 or Top 10 with 1^st time passes
  • Be able to demonstrate strong progression in their career to date
  • Experience working with (or a strong desire) to work with entrepreneurial businesses
  • Commercially and analytically astute
  • Demonstrate a strong technical competency in financial accounting
  • Team management experience
  • Comfortable in a collegiate, open and meritocratic environment
  • Is prepared to be office based in Garforth (East Leeds) full time
