Full Job Description

  • To provide initial assessments and evaluate risk and the appropriateness of counselling for clients referred to ReWellness.

  • Provide individual sessions to mainly children and young people between the ages of 8 and 18 years

  • Using a wide range of therapeutic modalities with a Person Centred Approach at the core of all work undertaken.

  • Cultivate good working relationships and liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals where appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, following ReWellness policies and procedures.

  • Flexibility to work with adult clients when needed.

  • Prior experience working with children and young individuals is a must for this role, along with the ability to engage young people effectively and create a safe space for them to express themselves.

  • Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People (CYP-L5) (or equivalent)

  • Registered with a professional body such as BACP

  • Enhanced DBS

  • At least 1 year post qualifying experience , working with children and young people

  • Passion & creativity along with an ability to connect with people of all ages

  • Strong knowledge of counselling theories and techniques

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills

  • Ability to build rapport with clients and establish a trusting therapeutic relationship

  • Empathy and compassion for individuals facing emotional challenges

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


  • We would especially love to hear form you if:
  • You have experience in running or participating in workshops

  • You have qualifications in Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Drama Therapy or any other creative therapies

  • Are also trained in Relationship, Family or Parent Counselling
