BPP Professional Development is responsible for delivering short, flexible, and bespoke courses to professionals in practice. We are recruiting freelance trainers to support the delivery and development of professional programmes. We are looking for highly motivated practitioners with a keen sense of the corporate context, who are excited by the prospect of using their professional expertise to develop careers through education. For this role, we are interested in hearing from practitioners and/or experienced trainers who can teach short courses (typically half a day to a day) at a range of levels, from early career audiences to senior professionals in practice. We are particularly looking for individuals with experience/expertise to support in the following areas, although other areas of expertise will be considered:

  • Financial Reporting (IFRS, US GAAP, FRS)
  • Tax
  • Property law
  • Arbitration
  • Intellectual Property
  • Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
  • Job Purpose The role of the freelance trainer is to deliver high-quality training to professionals that reflects the current skills and capability requirements of corporate employers. Trainers must have appropriate expertise in their subject area, as well as the enthusiasm to pass their passion for their specialist area on to students, learners, clients and peers. Trainers may undertake a variety of duties including, but not restricted to client engagement, content design, learner and cohort support and group management, as well as teaching and training activities (face to face and/or online via the Adobe Connect platform). Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a sophisticated understanding of the current skills and capability requirements of corporate industry, including an appreciation of how technology is impacting the workplace, the professions and job roles in their specialisms.
  • Develop and deliver high quality teaching and learning materials including schemes of work, programme, session and webinar content, topic guidance and activity checklists that reflect current corporate and professional body priorities.
  • Bring professional expertise and an understanding of the current corporate landscape into teaching and learning.
  • Manage cohorts of learners through virtual learning environments.
  • Complete compliance requirements (such as attendance monitoring)
  • Any other duties appropriate to the role.

    Extensive professional experience in relevant corporate roles, some training or teaching experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • The ability to plan, organise and prioritise workload;
  • The ability to work well in a team and be collaborative;
  • Commerciality;
  • Digital literacy;
  • Self-motivation.
  • Other industry related professional accreditations and/or certifications.
