Who are we? Our vision is of a school system that nurtures the talents of teachers and leaders at all stages of their careers so that they can provide children with an excellent education. Therefore, our mission is to improve the quality of teacher and leader development at a system level. We do this by generating and interpreting research, applying the insights to the design and delivery of high-quality teacher development programmes, and sharing it all with the sector. . We design and deliver Initial Teaching Education, Early Career Teacher provision, the full suite of NPQs plus the School Trust CEO programme. Our programmes are designed by expert instructional designers alongside teachers and leaders who understand the joys and pressures of school life. Who are we looking for? We are looking to build up our bank of freelance content writers so we can act responsively to the needs of the sector as we develop our programme material. We have projects ranging from a few days to a few months. All can be completed remotely, at a time to suit you. If you are an excellent writer with great attention to detail and experience as a researcher (in the field of education), teacher and/or leader we'd love to hear from you. You need to have some experience in designing professional development programmes and strong knowledge and understanding of the frameworks and evidence bases that underpin the ITTECF and NPQs programmes. Knowledge of instructional design would be an advantage, but we can provide training if needed. Whatever your education background, we'd be keen to hear from you. However, we are particularly keen to find writers with specialisms in Edtech, Early Years, Primary Maths, Leadership, SEND, alternative provision and special school provision. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Design & develop training material for a variety of different delivery contexts (e.g., asynchronous online self-study, immersive experiences, coaching, in person seminar and conferences).
  • Translate your knowledge and expertise into engaging and impactful learning experiences.
  • Apply instructional design methods, theories, tools and best practices to the creation of all course materials.
  • Take a creative approach to develop exciting engagement opportunities and activities for our programme participants.
  • Ensure fidelity to the relevant programme framework.
  • Ensure high quality exemplification is embedded into all programmes.
  • Ensure the latest research is included and supports the continuous improvement of our content.
  • What you can expect working with us:
  • A friendly and welcoming team who are passionate about what they do.
  • A relentless focus on achieving the very highest standards.
  • Full flexibility to fit around your existing commitment.
  • Fortnightly CPD.
  • No travel.
  • Next Steps Complete our Expression of Interest Form by 16th December 2024. We'll be in touch with successful applicants to arrange a short interview and writing task. Please note this is a self-employed, freelance opportunity.
