Full Job Description
As our Fuel Route Fleet Manager, you will develop and ensure that the Fuel Route Through Life Management Strategy is effectively implemented both in Operation and throughout Defueling Execution in order to safely maximise value for the company and minimise the UK cost of defueling. You will have responsibility for delivering preparation and execution of fleet fuel route performance and governance in support of Nuclear Decommissioning and the wider fleet transition. You will have functional links with the Ops Support department and other Fleet Managers in Nuclear Operations. The fleet role is strategically important in defining and implementing the ability of EDF to manage its resources and processes for fuel routes throughout the full fuel and reactor lifecycle through into defueling in an integrated way. The role is pivotal in ensuring integration of fuel routes with the wider UK programme of flask management that sites under the Head of Defueling. This integration becomes particularly important as part of the defueling period where generating stations must support the fuel routes that are defueling with efficient flask management., At EDF, everyone's welcome. - Establishing fleet policies and procedures based on industry best practices to conform with regulatory compliance requirements.
- Establishing fleet level performance indicators to achieve desired performance standards.
- Providing leadership to the associated Peer Group on programme matters ensuring the functioning, effectiveness, productivity, and output quality of the Peer Group (and associated task groups / teams)
- Providing the oversight of all Fuel and, Fuel Route (including training) programmes and process activities during and operation and defueling execution
- Having oversight of fleet effectiveness and evaluating, monitoring, and assessing site performance, identifying gaps in performance
- Developing and monitoring fleet improvement plans that drives performance improvement to industry best standards or that correct shortcomings related to statutory and / or organisational requirements.
- Coordinating support to enhance station performance.
Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity to learn and gain valuable experience? Are you strategically minded with the ability to manage major change programmes across our fleet? If so, this could be the role for you!, You'll hold a HNC as a minimum, however a degree in an Engineering or technical related subject would be advantageous. Ideally, you will also have attained Chartered Engineer or equivalent status. You will have significant experience working within a nuclear power station environment (or similar industry) with management experience at Departmental Manager level and be able to demonstrate technical competence and leadership skills. You will have experience in cross fleet improvement work, excellent programme management, negotiation and influencing, facilitation and arbitration skills. You will have experience participating in peer group forums / peer group management role at stations, so excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. WANO / INPO Peer review experience is highly desirable. AGR fuel route operations and understanding of plant operations are a distinct advantage, as well as knowledge of overall governance of fuel route and metrics, KPI's etc., to support/facilitate the fuel route in different quadrants. To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
We can offer a competitive salary and you'll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Personal Contract as well as your existing salary, competence, experience, and qualifications.
