Full Job Description

ACTS provides high-intensity support to young people in the community, as an alternative to a Tier 4 inpatient admission, and supports young people in hospital to facilitate discharge back to the community and reduce the length of hospital stay.

The multidisciplinary team provides tailored individualised interventions, including pharmacological, family and individual psychological interventions, informed by evidence-based practice, for young people with acute mental health conditions, in the least restrictive manner, as close to home as possible.

We work in a collaborative way with young people and their families to support them on the path to recovery. We provide a multidisciplinary approach to assessment and treatment we will work closely with the referral network to ensure continuity of care. The main duties of the role include; to provide psychiatric assessments, including risk assessment for young people referred to, and under the care of, the service. This includes undertaking urgent gate keeping assessments. To Provide treatment for young people under the care of ACTS, including providing medication management. To work in close collaboration with the inpatient and bed management teams. To take a leadership role within the team and providing appropriate support, supervision and psychiatric advice to other team members.

Central and North West London (CNWL) specialises in caring for people with a wide range of mental and physical health needs and is one of the largest mental health trusts in England. Each CAMHS service has its own local management structure. ACTS has a Lead Psychiatrist, Therapies Lead and Team Manager who work closely with the Acute CAMHS Service Manager. The team has a rotating format of ongoing team development sessions including: Reflective Practice, CPD, Care Quality and Case Formulation meetings each month. Further, the successful candidate will attend monthly CAMHS Consultants meetings and have opportunities to attend and represent the team in senior management meetings.

We have a vacancy for a Full-time (10 PAs; Part-Time can be considered) Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to work within the nationally-recognised and award-winning CAMHS Adolescent Community Treatment Team within CNWL.

We are looking for an energetic, innovative and dedicated child and adolescent psychiatrist with special interest in home treatment, keen to work with a dynamic and passionate consultant colleague and MDT clinicians.
