As a Functional Skills Tutor, you'll be a vital part of this mission, helping learners build essential maths and English skills.

What you'll do

Deliver engaging and interactive maths and/or English lessons to adult learners online or face to face.
Tailor your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of learners from various backgrounds.
Support learners in gaining confidence and mastering the skills they need to progress.
Monitor learner progress, offering personalised feedback and guidance.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.

No prior teaching experience is required - if you have a natural ability to connect with people, explain concepts clearly, and inspire others, we'll provide all the training and support you need to gain a teaching qualification and succeed as a tutor., We're seeking individuals who are passionate about education and driven to make a difference. To excel in this role, you'll need:

A passion for maths and English: You love these subjects and are eager to share that enthusiasm with others.
Excellent communication skills: You can break down complex concepts and make them understandable for learners of all abilities.
Empathy and patience: You recognise the challenges learners face and are committed to helping them succeed.
Desirable but not essential: Experience in Care, Hospitality, or Early Years. Your background in these industries equips you with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to learners, helping to make maths and English relevant to their day-to-day work.
A Level 2 qualification (GCSE or equivalent) in maths and English.
A Driving Licence and access to a vehicle are required, as travel will be required to meet your learners face to face., Disability Confident

Salary: From £26,000 + tax-free bonus | Location: Remote with some travel across the Northern Region | Role: Functional Skills Tutor, Starting salary from £26,000, with progression to £30,000 upon completing your teaching qualifications. You'll receive a full training package to support your development as a tutor, including qualifications in teaching.
