Are you passionate about working with children and animals? Are you a dedicated and experienced educator with a strong background in supporting young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Animal Antiks, a compassionate and nurturing farm based in beautiful Buckinghamshire, is seeking a talented Functional Skills Tutor to join our team.,

  • Delivering high-quality Functional Skills lessons to children with SEN, fostering their development in literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills.

  • Developing and implementing engaging and interactive outdoor classroom activities that enhance the learning experience.

  • Collaborating with the Animal Antiks team to create innovative strategies for bringing children's learning into the outdoors, going beyond the traditional classroom setting.

  • Providing individualised support to young people with complex needs, tailoring teaching techniques to accommodate their unique learning styles and abilities.

  • Cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence, confidence, and a love for learning.

    The ability to obtain an enhanced DBS check, ensuring eligibility to work with children and vulnerable individuals.

  • Proven experience in working with SEN children, preferably in an educational setting.

  • A passion for outdoor education and a creative approach to incorporating nature and animals into the learning process.

  • A PGCE qualification or equivalent in teaching, demonstrating a solid understanding of educational principles and effective instructional strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.

  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the unique needs of every child.
