Full Job Description

Would you like to use your skills, energy and passion to help shape the direction of fundraising at the Diocese of Westminster as we develop and implement ambitious growth plans?, As part of our Fundraising team, you will join a department which directly impacts how we can deliver the mission of the Catholic Church in Westminster. That impact is felt throughout London, Hertfordshire and Middlesex through our delivery of services, food banks, shelters, day centres, social enterprise and the many hundreds of programmes provided by our parishes and agencies throughout the Diocese of Westminster., We are recruiting a Fundraising Executive for our Fundraising and Stewardship department who will support the Parish & Digital Fundraising Manager by drafting, editing and producing fundraising literature for parish giving appeals in 2024, and preparing materials for the 2025 appeals. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to travel to parishes across the Diocese to aid in counting gifts received, and processing Gift Aid forms generated by Planned Giving Drives and contactless donations

This role will make a very real difference in enabling a step change towards a sustainable philanthropic income stream that will serve our beneficiaries and our Diocese through challenging times.

This means there's lots to get involved in - and to be excited about., Actions we take to provide equality of opportunity for all candidates include:

  • We anonymise application forms during our shortlisting process to ensure that candidates are assessed without any consideration of their name, gender or background.

  • As part of this anonymisation, we don't take into consideration where candidates studied, or the method of that study e.g. full-time, part-time or distance learning.

  • We apply a consistent approach to our question setting across our applications and interviews to ensure that everyone is assessed against the identified values, competencies and job requirements. Our values are important to us and as such we use a scoring framework that marks candidates based on values, behaviours and competencies.

  • We provide guidance and brief all our interviewers throughout the selection processes in recruitment best-practice to mitigate against any potential for conscious or unconscious bias or discrimination.

  • Whenever possible we will have multiple interviewers when assessing each candidate to ensure marking is accurate and fair.

  • We ensure all our assessment venues are accessible. We offer alternative formats of our application forms to encourage applicants with disabilities or who require reasonable adjustments to perform at their best.

  • We will work together with candidates with a disability or health condition to implement reasonable adjustments to enable them to feel comfortable and strive during the assessment process

Using your ability to develop strong working relationships both with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels, you will thrive on the opportunity to make a real difference to our parish communities by raising awareness for Planned Giving Drives in 2024/25, and further supporting the uptake of contactless donations across the Diocese.

  • You will also have experience of the following:
  • Experience of complex supporter or client relationships, meeting their needs and coordinating collaboration with colleagues

  • Experience of helping to build relationships to maximise engagement and potential support

  • Experience of working on multiple projects at any one time, requiring determination and focus to complete in accordance with deadlines

  • You will also be a strong team player who is self-motivated and goal driven together with excellent organisational skills to meet priorities.
