Full Job Description

Location: based in Chorley, with a mix of home and office working and travel to meetings and activities across Lancashire

We're looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic individual who can help us to shape and grow Lancashire Mind s fundraising activities.

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. We re working towards a Lancashire where everyone can have the best mental health and wellbeing possible.

To continue to deliver and grow our services, we need to raise funds and generate income through a variety of sources. The Fundraising Lead has oversight of our community, events and corporate fundraising, leading a small team of two Fundraisers to achieve annual objectives and develop and test new activities.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to bring their own ideas and creativity to work with the Head of Development and Fundraisers to grow the level of funds we raise through the generous support of local people and companies. We re looking for someone who has experience in a similar role or with transferable skills. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the charity sector and knowledge of different methods of fundraising, with the ability to foster relationships. You'll be confident, able to work autonomously and support and motivate others to achieve shared and individual goals. We re looking for someone who is great at using storytelling to attract support and who will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

Lancashire Mind aims to be a great place to work for all our staff, regardless of background or characteristics. One thing we can do to work towards that goal is to ensure that our staff team is representative of the diverse communities across Lancashire. We particularly encourage applications from people in communities that face mental health inequalities and from anyone with experience of living with a mental health condition.

Lancashire Mind offers a 35-hour working week, with options for flexible working. We have a dedicated workplace wellbeing programme to ensure staff are supported to look after their own mental health and wellbeing, including an Employee Assistance Programme, annual wellbeing half day and a range of wellbeing activities throughout the year. We offer paid emergency time off for unexpected life events, including caring for dependents. We have a sick pay scheme and workplace pension scheme and have recently enhanced our annual leave to include long service leave, on top of basic annual leave of 25 days, plus 3 days when the office closes between Christmas and New Year, plus the option to buy or sell leave.

Above all, we are a friendly and supportive place to work: "Great staff team, positive and supportive culture." (Lancashire Mind wellbeing survey, March 2024).
