Full Job Description

This is an active role, where no two days are the same. Offering a wide range of practical funeral related tasks that will involve heavy lifting, the role will also include chauffeuring our funeral cars and therefore a smart appearance and a full, clean driving licence is essential. You will:

  • Support ceremonial aspects of funerals.
  • Work with nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities to bring individuals into our care.
  • Prepare and trim coffins.
  • Maintain funeral vehicles and ambulance fleets to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Work in the mortuary environment in the care, preparation and presentation of those in our care. This will be introduced to you gradually and under supervision., Peasgood & Skeates is a family-owned business, formed as a merger between four well-respected and established independent funeral directors.
  • We have strong relationships across our trading area with fellow care professionals, local hospitals and the emergency services, with whom we work closely.   • Have a clean driving licence with access to your own transport.
  • Have the ability to carry out a range of physical tasks including heavy lifting.

    Salary: Total earnings £34,000 - £38,000 per annum (Basic pay £26,000 p.a. Participation in Out of Hours Rotas generates additional overtime and allowances circa. £8K - £12K p.a.)
