Full Job Description

Origination or sourcing of new transactions from the market, including direct client, broker and other market contacts:

  • Leading the relationship with direct client/bank partners to on-board new Infrastructure transactions directly from the market Includes gaining relevant internal approvals as appropriate;
  • Maintain Infrastructure industry knowledge and strategy of current market practices, including representing FGC at relevant industry forums and exchanges; and
  • Review and challenge of underwriting, pricing and ongoing loan management recommendations from the external partners and as otherwise originated.
  • Manage the Infrastructure loan portfolio to ensure financial performance and overall creditworthiness:
  • Responsibility to ensure appropriate risk management and governance of Infrastructure is in place to identify, measure, monitor, manage, control and report on all risks of Infrastructure investments;
  • Responsibility for the Infrastructure investment risk management policy including exposure limits, counterparty limits, acceptable collateral, management of concentration risk;
  • Ensure regulatory requirements are met;
  • Ensure appropriate business input into legal agreements for all Infrastructure transactions;
  • Support Infrastructure valuations process oversight;
  • Development and/ or evaluation of recommendations for stressed and distressed loans and presenting these to management, including processing recommendations through the appropriate Approval Process and then oversight of execution of actions on distressed loans including workout plans; and
  • Regular assessment of liquidity risk and proposal of appropriate limits on investments.
  • Build-out the infrastructure team within the FGC origination team and have day to day management of that team:
  • Annual and interim appraisals, including managing any disciplinary process with involvement of Head of Origination and HR as appropriate;
  • Support ambition and capabilities of individuals in the team to ensure continual professional growth and personal development; and
  • Ensure team has sufficient resources/skills to be able to deliver its objectives through the year, to manage absences, holidays and other unexpected draws on resource.

    Demonstrable track record of originating, analysing (incl. financial modelling), evaluating and managing Infrastructure loans;
  • Strong credit risk underwriting skills;
  • Experience of managing loan workouts
  • Strong Infrastructure market presence, well known in the market (clients, advisors, banks, other insurance companies, lawyers etc.);
  • Track record of delivery and working collaboratively with others; and
  • Degree level education with relevant experience and professional qualifications.
  • The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
  • Experience of valuation for Infrastructure assets; and
  • Experience in engaging with external governance bodies and regulators.
