Full Job Description

The HR, L&D and D&I department comprises 51 people globally and is responsible for the effective management of all matters concerning the attraction, engagement, development, progression and retention of our people. We play a key role in creating a diverse and inclusive environment where all of our people can do their best work and realise their full potential to the benefit of the firm and themselves. We are involved in a wide range of activities including:

  • Implementing the firm's people and talent strategy
  • Recruitment of partners and employees, including future (trainee) talent recruitment
  • Talent and career management
  • Reward strategy and salary review
  • Supporting the performance management process
  • Main Responsibilities The post holder will report to the senior future talent manager and work closely with the future talent and wider HR teams. They will develop relationships with partners and colleagues across the business. The future talent assistant will primarily be responsible for: Future talent recruitment
  • Dealing with first line queries about our processes, applications and other ad hoc queries and managing the future talent inbox and diary, scheduling catch ups and appointments
  • Organising, co-ordinating and participating in placement schemes, open days, insight sessions, skills workshops and law fairs
  • Managing our candidate management system, Candid
  • First stage application screening, manage co-ordination of administration for assessment centres, and make offers and communicate outcomes
  • Co-ordinating the payment of invoices for our suppliers
  • Assisting with creating and co-ordinating social media content
  • Future talent development
  • Onboarding for future talent including assisting with financial assistance, facilitating events prior to commencement of employment, coordinating induction activities, building relationships and liaising with our future talent population
  • Providing generalist HR support managing the employee lifecycle of the future talent population including monitoring sickness and other absence, monitoring seat reviews
  • Assisting with new joiner, induction, seat change, NQ and admission processes
  • Data input on our HR information system, WorkDay
  • Policies, knowhow and developing the HR function
  • Developing and maintaining standard documents, know-how and HR guidance documentation
  • Participating in the firm's and department's projects to support the firm's strategy to implementation balancing the day to day workload with project work
  • Keeping up to date with regulations and good practice
  • Working with others
  • Build on our presence at networks and forums to seek out best practice
  • Share ideas, contribute to know how and make suggestions for improvements
  • Contribute to team development and the wider HR team

    Relevant experience in future talent recruitment and development
  • Flexible approach and proactive manner to all work and tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team and across all levels at the firm, approachable and able to build rapport quickly
  • Excellent organisational skills, planning and prioritisation, and time management of self and others
  • Accuracy and a strong eye for detail
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and information confidentially and discreetly
  • Commercial understanding and approach
  • Interest in own professional development and keen to put forward own ideas and suggestions
  • Experience of an HR information system/database, ideally WorkDay
