Full Job Description

Horizon Worlds is a cornerstone of Meta's core mission to build the Metaverse. Our team is opening this vision out to millions of users yet to own VR headsets by making content that works across VR, mobile, and PC. We are looking for a Game Designer to create engaging and delightful experiences within Horizon Worlds. In this role you will be responsible for design and prototyping systems and features across the Horizon ecosystem alongside other designers and engineers, as part of a team helping to deliver the metaverse. Game Designer Responsibilities

  • Drive the design development of features created within Unit 2 Games.
  • Bring design solutions to life with dynamic interactive prototypes and support their final delivery in-product.
  • Create original documentation and supporting evidence, collating research findings and working with engineers and product managers to assess viability.
  • Develop and maintain tools and systems for creating designs, explore new methodologies and practices to aid speedy development.
  • Iterate existing solutions based on analytics and user feedback, addressing gaps or issues raised.
  • Build strong collaborative working relationships across the team and studio to ensure consistent high quality user experiences.

    3+ years of commercial feature design experience within games.
  • Understanding of a broad variety of game genres and styles.
  • Experience with tools such as Figma and a good understanding of creating comprehensive documentation and designs.
  • Documentation skills and experience presenting and communicating designs to cross-discipline teams.
  • Experience constructing & working within UI and mechanic design systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and/or experience with game development engines (Unreal, Unity, etc)
  • Experience using game development UI libraries (Scaleform, Coherent, React etc)
  • Experience with user experience research and feedback, and using both qualitative and quantitative data to improve designs and propose new solutions.
  • Experience with UI design or artistic skills for creating original raster/vector art for mockups.
  • Portfolio showing previous work.
