Full Job Description

An experienced Games Capture Artist is needed to join our multi-disciplined art team.
Your role will be focussed on capturing exceptionally high quality in-game footage that would be used by editors and video artists in the production of Playstack's latest game trailers and video assets.

Your work will sit neatly between concept and production - taking detailed briefing and direction from the marketing team leads, the video team and the developers themselves. You are a team player with a creative sensitivity towards the narrative, and the stories being told by the trailers are very much at the heart of this role - along with an appreciation of cinematography and composition. These critical framing skills are just as important as your technical ability as a capture artist.

The role will also involve the organisation of multiplayer capture sessions with the Playstack team members, therefore patience and organisation skills are crucial. Training and guidance will be provided where needed from team members.
Additionally, you will be assisting in prepping, pre-editing and encoding captured footage for the video team, so video editing skills would be desirable.

You will be tasked with capturing footage from supplied game builds (with advanced debug controls) - this capture will largely be taken from PC at 4k however lots of opportunities to capture from Mac, Mobile and Console Platforms too. The core goal being to deliver against the brief you are given.

You are a capture artist who loves games, game trailers and understands their flow and structure.
- You have an understanding of the different tones of voice required for Announcement, Reveal, and Launch Trailers.
- You are aware of how stories are presented - you know about cinematography, the language of camera shots, angles and movements.
- You are a patient and positive team player who can swap hats across different game genres and give their best to each project as a dedicated and vital part of our team at Playstack.

Technical Experiences:
- A good understanding of the Adobe CC Suite - After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop would be very helpful and allow you to interact more closely with the creative team
- Proven experience in game capture: please link your CV to a showreel/folio outlining your work.

Bonus skills:
- Experience with capturing directly from in-engine, either Unity or Unreal.
- An understanding of working with Editors and Sequencers in-game - including custom cameras and exporting high quality footage.
