Full Job Description

Full Time, all year round

This leading HMC co-educational School seeks to appoint a Gardener to join the enthusiastic and professional support team.

The successful applicant will help maintain the large proportion of the school estate set aside for gardens, ensuring it provides an excellent 'first impression' to the school and is sector-leading in its appearance and biodiversity.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about horticulture, with a good knowledge of plant care and seasonal garden maintenance. Responsibilities include planting, weeding, pruning, and ensuring the school grounds are safe, attractive, and welcoming for students, visitors, and staff. A proactive attitude, the ability to work as part of a team, and a relevant horticultural qualification (to Level 2) or equivalent experience are essential.

The position is available on a full-time basis, all year round. Working hours will normally be Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Summer and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the Winter. There is Saturday working on a rota basis in the Summer to support watering.

The salary will be in the range of £25,713 to £28,000 per annum subject to qualifications and experience.

The closing date for the role is at midday on Monday 14 October 2024.
