Full Job Description

We're looking for a General Foreman to join our utilities arm of Kier called Natural Resources, working across sites in the Thames Valley region.

 

Location: Sites in the Thames Valley region across Reading and Oxford.

Contract: Permanent, Full Time 

 

Responsibilities


We are seeking a General Foreman to work within our Wastewater Asset Assurance Programme (WAAP). You will collaborate with the project team to ensure that throughout the project life cycle, all construction activities are planned and delivered to the appropriate standards and in line with the accepted programme, budget and inspection and test plans (ITPs).

What will you be responsible for?

As General Foreman, you'll be working within the Natural Resources team, supporting them in;

  • Managing Safety on site including giving inductions and effective Toolbox Talks, Daily Task Briefings and Point of Work assessments to Site Operatives and sub-contractors
  • Allocating duties to site operatives and coordinating sub-contractors
  • Supervising site operatives & sub-contractors and site activities to ensure tasks carried out are within their levels of skill and expertise.
  • Co-ordinating with Line Managers on managing work methods which are technically sound, safe, economically viable, feasible and consistent and advise them of any items which may impact / change the contract programme.
  • Maintain daily records of site activities and liaise with the Line Managers to produce information for progress reports.

 

What are we looking for?

This role of General Foreman is great for you if:

  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of the set up and day to day running of a construction site.
  • Have experience of work in the water industry
  • NVQ Level 1/2.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card – Supervisor - Gold,
  • SMSTS Experienced Supervisor or Manager.
  • First Aid Trained
  • Are an appointed person / crane coordinator
  • IT literate with Microsoft packages
