Full Job Description

  • Undertaking a wide range of preventative and reactive maintenance to include :
  • + Land based work such as fencing, hedging, ditching and field drain repairs + Workshop based vehicle and machinery servicing and repairs across our fleet of vans, tractors, harvesting equipment and farm implements + Site and structure work such as repairs to poly tunnel woodwork and sheeting + Provide support to the farms and plant nursery in the form of maintenance and installation work as required + Complete any work-related record keeping

  • Well-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Self-organised and able to prioritise work as required
  • A good team worker but happy to work alone
  • A willingness to learn and happy to attend work related training as required
  • Desirable Skills / Experience: As the scope of the role is so wide and varied, we do not expect applicants to have all these skills or experience, but some prior experience in a maintenance role is required
  • Experience and ideally a qualification in mechanical work, such as a car or agricultural mechanic
  • Basic carpentry - for building and repair of basic structures
  • Experience of working in an environment where, some at least, of the work requires a level of paper or digital reporting and record keeping
  • Land work such as fencing, ditching and hedge trimming
  • Rough Terrain Forklift with proof of training or training will be provided
  • 360 Digger experience and proof of training or training will be provided
  • Welding
  • Qualified chainsaw operator or training will be provided

    W Crowder & Sons Ltd, part of the RSK Group, is looking for a full-time General Maintenance Person to help us with the day-to-day maintenance across two farm sites and a plant nursery. The role is based largely outdoors with a wide variety of work and you will be working with one other Maintenance Person., Crowders Nurseries began as a horticultural business in 1798 in Lincolnshire.   • From our three sites in Lincolnshire, we propagate many of the plants grown in our nursery, which ensures a consistent quality. Crowders supply the full range of nursery stock products, including container-grown, bare-root and root-balled plants, hedging and forestry. We also supply plants for roads, highways, railways and other infrastructure projects. Other products include herbaceous and perennial plants, ornamental shrubs, instant hedging and screening and trees from UK-certified and traceable stock. We supply these solutions to government organisations, local authorities, landscape contractors, landscape architects and construction firms throughout the UK, the Channel Islands, Ireland and Europe.
