Full Job Description

To work in close partnership with the Rector to ensure that the Catholic National Shrine & Basilica of Our Lady is a place of spiritual nourishment, welcome, and Marian devotion.

To provide motivational leadership to our senior managers and staff

To propose, develop, communicate and deliver effective strategic plans, in partnership with the Rector, and as agreed with Trustees.

To develop, maintain, and deliver a balanced budget agreed with Trustees, in collaboration with the Rector and Financial Controller, including delivering and ensuring that any financial surplus be reinvested in sustaining the mission of the Shrine.

To be responsible for the oversight of the Safeguarding and Health and Safety provisions for all Trust operations.

To ensure that the property assets and all material resources of the Shrine are maintained in good order at all times, in line with the recommendations of the quinquennial assessment/reports.

To liaise with civil authorities, local residents, and businesses regarding large scale pilgrimages to ensure they are conducted safely, securely, and with minimal environmental or social impact on the surrounding area and people.

To provide Out of Hours [OOH] Duty Manager response as required, especially to include weekends and Bank Holidays, subject to rota [minimum of 1 weekend per month].

NB: It is an occupational requirement that the successful applicant for this role is a practicing Catholic. This is a Genuine Occupational Requirement' (GOR), as defined in The Equality Act [2010].

Salary: £60,000 - £65,000 + on-site accommodation may be provided if required.
