Full Job Description
We are looking for a General Manager to join the team on our Kent County Council project based in West Malling, Kent. What you'll do:
- Manage a safe, environmentally sound, efficient, effective business in line with the Skanska values and way of working. Ensure the provision of services is competitive on value, managed to budget, delivers a quality and responsive service which is client focused and meets the contractual requirements.
- Lead, develop and manage the team, facilitate profitability, contract & engineering compliance, and ensure effective delivery of the Facilities Management provision. To manage efficient and cohesive teams with a shared sense of purpose through the team building sessions, development of individuals PDP's and use the Skanska Code of Conduct.
- Create a culture of customer care managing both the relationship, and expectations of external key stakeholder's e.g. the client, Skanska Facilities Services Leadership Team and Skanska UK by working with and reporting regularly to the Operations Director on progress, key activities and expenditure against budget. To understand the monthly figures, taking proactive action to prevent losses and maximise profitability and have a working knowledge of the commercial and financial status of the contract.
Engineering qualification - Sound knowledge of FM industry
- Member of industry association (BIFM, CIBSE or similar)
- Proven leadership and development skills
- Client relationship management skills
- Good all round communication skills
- Strong track record of success in delivering complex major projects
- A good leader, commercially and financially astute and with the ability to provide positive leadership and clear direction to a wide-ranging team
- Knowledge and experience of the commercial and legal structure of complex projects
