Full Job Description

We are thrilled to announce an exceptional 9-month secondment opportunity for the role of General Manager Acute Floor within the Medicine Division at University Sussex Hospitals. This dynamic position, covering both the Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital, is perfect for an existing General Manager or an aspiring Operational Manager looking to advance their career. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing Acute Floor services including the £48m refurbishment at RSCH., The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two Emergency Departments and two Acute Medicine services within the Acute Floor. They must effectively engage and collaborate with other Trust General Managers to manage unscheduled demand across both hospitals.
In this role, you will contribute to the development and implementation of Divisional and Trust service strategies and objectives, with a particular focus on delivering performance standards, service improvements, and efficiencies. Your efforts will enhance patient care and improve patient pathways within the Acute Floor, driving excellence in our premier hospitals.
