Full Job Description

GP Assistant works as part of the multi-disciplinary team within primary care to support the smooth running of the surgery and the outreach team. Roles tend to focus primarily on a combination of administrative support and routine clinical duties., GP Assistants are required to either hold prior to appointment the GP Assistant Certificate, or to undertake the Certificate if they do not already have the qualification., Key responsibilities include arranging appointments, referrals and tests, and monitoring and drafting clinical correspondence. Those involved in clinical duties are likely to perform a range of routine procedures under direction including, but not limited to phlebotomy, blood pressure, pulse checks, ECG, BMI, health checks, LTC Part 1, assisting minor surgery, joint injections., Conexus Healthcare is a community interest company and is the federation for general practice in Wakefield. Trinity Health Group is a PCN made up of four practices on the west of the district (Trinity Medical Centre, Maybush Medical Centre, Crofton and Sharleston Medical Practice and Warrengate Medical Centre). The PCN team currently consists of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Paramedics, Mental Health Practitioners, FCPs, Care Coordinators, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, GPAs and Social Prescribing Link Workers.
