HMP Belmarsh is a category A Prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around 675 patients with a variety of needs include complex physical and mental health. Within this role you will be working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team providing excellent clinical care and treatment. Salary This is a part time role working 8 hours/ 2 sessions per week, with a salary of up to £125,400 FTE per annum depending on experience How will we support you? in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks, As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, you will .

  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. Prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions.

  • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities. Including diagnosis, investigation, treatment and referral as appropriate in line with guidelines and pathways. Including prescribing for patients, regularly review medications and monitor repeat prescriptions

  • MBChB or MBBS

  • Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List

  • Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal

  • Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice

  • Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse

  • RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
