Full Job Description

As our General Surgeon, you will provide a full range of surgical diagnosis, treatment and care to inpatients, day patients and outpatients who require general surgery. Whilst the working week will comprise 40 hours (10 PAs), working patterns will be flexible and may entail an ad-hoc mix of late evenings and weekend work to meet the requirements of the unit. There is no on-call commitment but you must be prepared to assess patients urgently in person on the unit as requested by the RMO on duty during routine working hours. As a key member of the team, you will be working closely with our team of consultants across a wide range of specialisms and the hospitals Medical Director, Nurul, and local Leadership Team

Are you experienced in working in general surgery, especially laparoscopic procedures (hernia repair and cholecystectomy? This is a full-time role but happy to welcome part-time applications, ideally 2 - 3 days a week., You will be a UK registered medical professional, who is listed on the Specialist GMC register with

  • Experience of working in general surgery, especially laparoscopic procedures (hernia repair and cholecystectomy).
  • Able to conduct clinical audits
  • Able to communicate well with patients and staff, both orally and in writing.
