Full Job Description
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that each lesson is differentiated to meet the needs of all students.
- Foster a deep understanding of geographical concepts, from physical landscapes to global issues, helping students make connections between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
- Regularly assess student progress through both formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and supporting students in achieving their academic goals.
- Promote critical thinking and analytical skills by integrating case studies, geographical data, and current global events into lessons.
- Encourage independent learning by supporting students in project work, field trips, and using geographical technologies and tools to enhance their research.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, improve teaching methods, and contribute to the overall success of the Humanities department.
- Contribute to the school's co-curricular activities, organizing geography-related clubs, field trips, and outdoor learning experiences that extend classroom learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students' personal development by creating a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in education, incorporating new teaching strategies, technologies, and resources into your practice.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. - Experience teaching Geography at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong understanding of the Geography curriculum, including assessment techniques and best practices.
- A degree in Geography or a related subject (desirable).
- A passion for teaching and inspiring students in the field of Geography.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
