Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Geography Teacher to join the team in February 2025. Whether you are an experienced educator or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this role offers an exciting opportunity to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience.   • Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring the curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of all students.
  • Develop dynamic and engaging lesson plans, using a range of resources and teaching methods to make Geography accessible and stimulating for every student.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Develop a strong understanding of geographical concepts, including physical geography, human geography, environmental challenges, and global issues.
  • Encourage critical thinking and problem-solving by integrating data analysis, case studies, and real-world geographical applications into lessons.
  • Connect the curriculum to current events and global trends, encouraging students to see the relevance of Geography in the world around them.
  • Support students in developing independent research skills through project work, field trips, and the use of geographical tools and technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to share best practices, enrich cross-curricular learning, and enhance student outcomes.
  • Contribute to the school's co-curricular program, organizing field trips, geography clubs, and other enriching activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and behavior, ensuring compliance with school policies and standards.
  • Support student well-being by fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment that encourages respect, cooperation, and personal growth.
  • Stay current with developments in Geography education, integrating innovative teaching strategies, resources, and technologies into lessons.

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching Geography in secondary schools.
  • Strong knowledge of the Geography curriculum and assessment practices.
  • A degree in Geography or a related field (desirable).
  • A passion for teaching Geography and inspiring students to develop a love for the subject.
