Full Job Description
- Inspection of rock faces, slopes and retaining walls both on foot and using ropes with an experienced rope access supervisor. IRATA rope access training will be provided by CAN.
- Visits to current slope stabilisation projects to ensure construction is being undertaken in accordance with design.
- Undertaking detailed design of stabilisation solutions.
- Preparation of quotations, inspection reports and design documentation.
- Use of slope stability software and autoCAD.
- Help to develop CANs design and build capability with an aim to bring more work into the business.
This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with a background in geotechnical engineering to work with a contactor who delivers bespoke design and build solutions. The majority of work that CAN undertakes is the stabilisation of rock and soil slopes. - Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role.
- Practical experience of inspecting rock and soil slopes and use of slope stability software.
- Bachelors degree in geology/civil engineering or a related subject essential
- Excellent report writing skills
- Full, clean driving licence essential
CAN Geotechnical, part of the RSK Group is looking for an Engineering Geologist/Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Chesterfield. This is a full-time permanent role., CAN Engineering is a UK-based geotechnical engineering and access contractor. We undertake large-scale ground stabilisation and specialist access projects. Our geotechnical engineering division is involved with undertaking soil slope and rock face stabilisation work, installing rockfall protection measures, constructing retaining walls and providing sprayed concrete and structural reinforcement drilling and grouting. Our structures division offers structural repairs, construction support, inspection, testing and maintenance, blasting, painting, rigging and lifting at height. The multifaceted work is supported by rope access and confined space expertise, including bespoke access solutions. - £30-40,000 depending on experience

The role will be office based, but with a significant amount of work undertaking inspections and site visits. The candidate must be willing to undertake IRATA rope-access training and inspections.,
