Full Job Description

  • Developing patterns using the Gerber system, from initial handover stage through to
  • production approval
  • Working closely with design and development teams to develop styles with a design
  • lead vision
  • Attend weekly fittings for new and existing styles across our mens and womens
  • collection providing technical feedback and fit comments
  • Collaborate with in house machinist and technical team to optimise pattern
  • construction and finishings ensuring all garments are production friendly and considerate of costs
  • Preparing patterns and specifications for factory send outs, generating fabric
  • consumptions and pattern measurements
  • Assist technical /development team with cross checking a style's pattern, bill of
  • materials and running ratings to ensure all information given to production is accurate and aligned.
  • Digitize seasonal paper patterns, adding all annotations and seam allowances and
  • preparing for factory send outs
  • Liaise with Development Team on priorities and deadlines, co-ordinating completion
  • of sample amendments and mock ups required for factory launch
  • Follow the critical path and help to ensure that development deadlines are met,
  • flagging issues early to relevant parties, helping to avoid and resolve problems and communicating changes to the team
  • Attend end of season production fittings, ensuring a smooth transition into
  • production, flagging any challenging elements whilst suggesting cost effective solutions.
  • Update seasonal trackers
  • Support factories to ensure any queries are answered in a clear and timely manner
  • Approve grading nests/grading charts received from factories as required.
  • In collaboration with senior team members process quality and fit feedback from
  • stores and clients and implement improvement/resolutions

  • Minimum 6-8 years experience within luxury Ready-to-Wear (RTW) market
  • Experience and high proficiency of Gerber is essential
  • Experience developing styles across womenswear and menswear
  • Excellent understanding of patterns, garment construction and fit
  • Basic grading knowledge and understanding of grade charts is desirable
  • Experience in print placement lay plans is desirable
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Must be a problem solver able to find innovative solutions in line with creative vision
  • Excellent working knowledge of manufacturing
  • Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload
  • Accustomed to working to tight deadlines and being able to multitask across
  • changing priorities
  • A team player with great interpersonal skills
