Full Job Description
- Gesh Group has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated MCA/Safeguarding Practitioner looking to step into the Lead MCA Practitioner role.
- This post is based across Epsom & St Helier Hospitals as a 1 year fixed term/secondment.
- We are seeking a qualified/registered healthcare practitioner who is committed to the principles of the Mental Capacity Act.
- The role is focused on embedding and upholding the key principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005) in practice with direct support, teaching, quality assurance, managing complex issues and ensuring that the rights of the people at the centre of care are upheld.
- We are looking for a friendly, self-motivated and flexible practitioner to work within a busy and fast paced environment.
- This is a site based role and you will be working across both Epsom & St Helier hospital sites. The teams are very friendly, committed and have our Trust values at the centre of all patient and colleague interactions., The post holder will strategically lead on the development and implementation of the Trust's statutory duties and requirements under the Mental Capacity Act (MCA).
- The post holder will work across the Trust and with partner agencies to ensure that the principles, function and application of MCA/DoLs is embedded within all appropriate policies and services in accordance with legislative changes.
- Develop, deliver & QA comprehensive MCA & DoLS policies and training packages.
- The post holder will ensure that the Trust meets its responsibilities to evidence improvements in practice and outcomes in relation to the MCA, including audit, reporting writing and presentations.
- The post holder will work closely with other members of the safeguarding team to safeguard individuals where there is a lack mental capacity or where there is a need for support or question around a person's decision-making ability.
- The post holder will be an integral part of the Adult Safeguarding team at the Trust and will also be required to undertake wider duties in the Trust's Adult Safeguarding team.
- The post holder will be required to deputise for the Adult Safeguarding Lead Nurse as required.
- The post holder will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff must consistently demonstrate the Trusts values and behaviours.
