Full Job Description

Join our dynamic team to provide essential GIS support for business-critical activities and projects. Utilise cutting-edge tools, deliver high-quality data analysis, and produce outputs that drive our success. Your communication skills and customer service orientation will be key as you collaborate with stakeholders to deliver spatial solutions.,

  • Collaborate with the GIS Casework Lead, business units, Managing Agents, and the GIS Team to ensure timely and high-quality GIS support across all portfolios.

  • Conduct proximity checks to assess the spatial implications of new developments on existing assets and obligations.

  • Create detailed maps, plans, and charts for legal documents, information purposes, and ad-hoc requests from internal teams and external parties.

  • Maintain and update GIS datasets to a high standard, adhering to team quality procedures.

  • Digitise and capture spatial and attribute data using advanced GIS tools.

  • Perform GIS analysis to address business queries and provide actionable insights.

  • Manage and track business requests, ensuring all tasks are recorded and prioritised effectively.

  • Adhere to GIS processes and procedures to ensure consistency and quality of outputs.

  • Develop cross-portfolio knowledge to enhance team collaboration and workload sharing.

  • Stay updated with the latest GIS technologies to maximise the value of outputs.

  • Explore opportunities for automation and self-service GIS solutions using Python scripting, FME, or other tools.

  • Build great relationships with stakeholders and promote self-service GIS solutions.

  • Facilitate smooth data transfer and knowledge sharing with Managing Agents.

  • Assist in responding to Freedom of Information enquiries.

  • Manage data following the registration of The Crown Estate title with Land Registry.

  • BSc in Geographical Information Systems/Science (GIS) or related field.

  • Excellent knowledge of Esri Desktop and geoprocessing tools.

  • Understanding of Crown Estate portfolios and the value GIS adds to our business.

  • Experience with Python scripting and third-party terrestrial and marine datasets.

  • Familiarity with OS products, Admiralty charts, metadata standards, projections, and transformations.

  • Proven ability to produce high-quality GIS outputs using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Ability to present spatial data clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with GIS dissemination tools like ArcGIS Online.

  • Ability to interpret various sources, including maps, deeds, plans, and aerial photography.

  • Effective workload planning and prioritisation skills.

  • Great relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
