GL4 Support Worker

About this client/child: Callum aged 14 is an active, happy and very social young man. He enjoys adapted sport, swimming, the theatre, socialising and just being out and about. He has cerebral palsy and requires support for all activities of daily living, including personal care and assisting with social and leisure opportunities. Callum independently drives his wheelchair and loves an active lifestyle. He uses an electronic talker for his communication as well as some of his own gestures/signs. Callum will require support with his feeding, but he can manage mashed food well and has a PEG fitted for water and medication only.

Essential: Enthusiasm, patience and willingness to support a young person with additional needs, confident in water, outgoing personality
Desirable: An interest or prior experience carrying out therapy programmes and experience using specialist equipment such as hoists would be useful. Non-smoker.

Days & Hours: 9.00am to 5.00pm OR 10am to 7.00pm dependent on client s needs, 2 to 3 weekend days in every 4-week period, & 2 days during school holidays days worked to be by mutual agreement.
Family/Client Pets: Very friendly cockapoo
Recruiter: Rachael (url removed), and sick leave cover for other team members. The hourly rate being offered is between £15.50 and £16.50 Gross Per Hour depending on experience.
