Full Job Description
We are looking for someone to protect and enhance the reputation of IHG Hotels & Resorts by working with multiple stakeholders to develop and execute external and internal communications that support, and drive awareness and understanding of IHG's strategy, performance, and purpose of True Hospitality for Good. External & Internal Communications Focus: The role is 80% external and 20% internal communications, including media handling, CEO and executive-level communications, and supporting strategic initiatives. Strategic Communication & Business Partnering: Support the Senior Manager, Global External Corporate Communications in executing strategies to promote IHG's purpose while acting as a senior-level business partner to key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with global, regional, and functional teams. Content & Channel Management: Oversee strategy and content delivery for corporate digital channels, including social media and the corporate website, working closely with an external agency to manage content and performance. Media & Spokesperson Support: Play a key role in IHG's press office, manage external speaking event briefs, and contribute to the global corporate external calendar to ensure cohesive planning.
We are seeking a confident, creative, and proactive team player who is passionate about storytelling and communications. You should have a natural curiosity, a strong interest in news, and an awareness of key macro-issues and industry trends, including how competitors and large organisations communicate. Key Requirements:
- Experience in a fast-paced communications function, either in-house or within an agency.
- Proven ability to navigate a global, matrixed organisation and partner effectively with senior executives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with expertise in 360-degree campaigns.
- Ability to deliver high-quality work with attention to detail, even in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick to grasp and clearly articulate complex information, with sensitivity to language and stakeholder perspectives.
- Creativity and adaptability in tailoring content for diverse channels.
- A collaborative mindset, accountability, and a drive to build relationships and grow professionally.
IHG's Global Corporate Communications team is made up of external and internal teams, and belongs to IHG's Global Corporate Affairs function, which totals almost 140 colleagues across all regions and is led by the Executive Vice President, Global Corporate Affairs (a member of the company's Executive Committee). There are regional and functional communications teams based in key offices in Windsor (Global/Europe), Atlanta (Americas) and Shanghai (Greater China), with some colleagues based in smaller satellite offices across the globe.
