We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Global Insurance Risk Team in the role of Global Insurance Risk Steward - Senior Risk Actuary.

The Global Insurance Risk Team is a 2nd line team whose financial risk responsibilities include review and challenge over capital and financial reporting, assumptions, pricing as well as model risk oversight. The Global Insurance risk team will work closely with Local Risk teams to provide an effective 2nd line function.

In this role, you will:

  • Support in risk stewardship oversight and assurance activity on key reported financials across the insurance entities. This covers capital and IFRS17 financial reporting.

  • Be a leading subject matter expert across all actuarial topics related to IFRS 17 and stochastic models.

  • Set policies, standards and procedures to ensure that appropriate risk management standards are maintained within Insurance businesses, and overseeing compliance with those policies.

  • Working closely with first and second line teams globally within Actuarial, Risk and Finance.

  • Oversee development and effectiveness of the financial reporting control environment.

    Qualified Actuary or Equivalent qualification.

  • Knowledge of IFRS17 and local regulatory / economic capital with a sound understanding of the key differences between financial reporting and capital bases,

  • Strong knowledge of Asset-Liability Management and stochastic models.

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of key financial reporting processes.

  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal, able to adapt and deliver to stakeholders of multiple geographies and seniority levels.

  • Stakeholder management skills and experience, with interaction with senior management.


  • The base location for this role is London and is Hybrid working.
