About the role

As a Learning and Development leader to a broad range of stakeholders across the globe you will be engaging with the business to offer consultative guidance on learning initiatives that enhance individual, team, and organisational performance.

You will be joining an experienced, established and forward-thinking team of professionals at an exciting time in Buro Happold's growth journey.

This is naturally a broad role but you can expect to be :

  • Overseeing the continuous delivery of the learning strategy globally, ensuring its alignment with the broader organisational priorities.

  • Facilitating the growth and role fulfilment of emerging global leaders, particularly through management and leadership development programs.

  • Line managing L&D coordinators who in turn are responsible for the end-to-end programme management of cross-disciplinary learning offerings.

  • Taking accountability of all cross-disciplinary learning offerings and budget globally, ensuring that they are delivered to the highest quality, and maximising their impact.

  • Working with regional leaders to offer targeted development opportunities that facilitate career planning and smooth transitions, aligning with our succession planning and talent pipeline development.

  • Keeping Buro Happold up to date with latest knowledge and best practices in learning and development, while actively seeking opportunities to enhance and optimise our learning offerings.

    Experience in designing, implementing and continuously improving talent development pathways and initiatives.


  • Excellent facilitation and consultancy skills with the ability to engage others and positively influence at all levels across the globe regionally.

    Excellent planning and communication skills, able to influence at all levels of the organisation to demonstrate the value of talent development.

    Able to work with subject matter experts to create engaging and impactful learning experiences.

    Proven experience managing a team, ensuring high standards of programme management and learning operations are maintained.

    Demonstrable business acumen and experience of budget planning and L&D budget management.

    Experience working with a Learning Experience Platform / Learning Management System within a global organisation.

    The ability to learn and adapt at pace to provide ideas and solutions across diverse contexts and stakeholder groups.
