This position reports to Global Product Manager Director Your role and responsibilities Support the Global Product Management to optimize the Surge Protection Devices and Earthing and Lighting portfolio of ABB FURSE. Ensure the organization has a full understanding of market requirements in a specific area, segment, or region, and can transform these requirements into product specifications, development activities, and ultimately revenue generation. This role is accountable for the long-term profitable growth of the offering and supports business results by overseeing each step of the lifecycle, including development, launch, go-to-market, maintenance, pricing, and profitability. You will be managing a strategically important market segment Surge Protection Devices and Earthing and Lightning for ABB FURSE products. Additionally, you will act as forefront for new applications, innovation, and market expansion within the organization. Your responsibilities will include performing market intelligence, driving new developments & innovation for ABB FURSE SPD products, leading market introductions and tracking portfolio performance. The work model for the role is: Onsite - Nottingham office. This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products, UK Division. Main stakeholders are external market (e.g. customer, distribution partners, regional sales teams, etc.) and internal functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, and Research & Development). You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Leads the market intelligence analysis (e.g. gathering and analyzing data about business market's) to better understand customer behavior, industry trends, competitor activities, and new market opportunities. Manages the technical specification of product assigned and supports the Product Manager in developing the business case for product developments, maintenance, and cost reduction. Collects and analyses standards, market requirements, customer needs and values as an input for producing a product roadmap. From identified opportunities, supports the Global Product
  • Manager in creating the business case for product development projects.
  • Initiates and drives product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation. Clarifies product positioning within the portfolio, with defined values per product line to address different segment needs.
  • Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor or master's in engineering or operations management is ideal, MBA plus
  • Strong years of experience in product management
  • Proven record or new product developments, product launch, marketing and technical solutions
  • Relevant experience in electrical industry experience, cable protection or cable management
  • Experience in project management & leading project teams (plus)
  • Strong entrepreneurship, project management, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal in English.
