Full Job Description

Golden Years Project Officer We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Golden Years Project Officer to join our team. You will be part of a team providing clubs and activities for people aged 60+ across East London.

This job will involve core hours (Mon, Tues 9am - 2pm, Wed, Thu 9am - 5pm, Fri 9am 3pm) with your remaining hours to be worked flexibly across each week.

Some evening and weekend work may be required., To serve as the primary contact for members and prospective members Handle membership enquiries and applications Maintain accurate digital records of all current and past members Process membership and event fees in accordance with the DABD Finance Policy and Procedures Liaise with speakers/visitors to the club pre-visit and while they are on site, ensuring that all relevant paperwork is in place Plan and coordinate member events and activities taking into account the members' wishes and current needs of the group In conjunction with the Health & Safety Officer, complete risk assessments for all club and additional activities Ensure all new and/or additional activities are covered by our pre-existing insurance policy or that additional cover is purchased Work with other members of the team to ensure the smooth running of all clubs and efficient management of volunteers Recruit, coordinate and manage volunteers for each Golden Years Club in conjunction with HR and in line with DABD policies
and procedures Objectives: Develop and implement membership retention and growth strategies Coordinate membership communications including e-newsletters and mailings Maintain accurate member records and database Plan and execute membership events and programmes Serve as a resource to members Work with other staff to ensure that membership needs are being met Desirable - Do you: o Have previous experience of running clubs or groups o Have previous experience of working with older people o Have previous experience of working with volunteers o Have a social care qualification o Have an understanding of Disability Awareness and the effects of social isolation o Computer literate We can offer you:- 1. We have been helping people for over 70 years and today we work across five London Boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, Newham and Waltham Forest with a dedicated team of approximately 100 staff and volunteers.
