Full Job Description
When you arrive at the course you will be greeted by a member of staff and sign in for your shift. You might spend the morning walking around the driving range collecting golf balls, improving your fitness as you go. You might then pick up a golf buggy and drive around the course saying hello to golfers and processing their entry payments using a payment machine. You might also attend a training session with a driving range attendant to learn more about how the range operates. Your tasks Depending on the time of day you are available to volunteer, your tasks may include:
- Collecting golf balls from the driving range using a hand-held ball collector alongside other volunteers or staff
- Cleaning golf balls using a golf ball washing machine
- Checking golfers' names against that day's bookings list
- Taking payments from golfers using a PDQ machine (card machine)
- Greeting golfers and creating a friendly environment on the course You will not be expected to
- Operate heavy machinery
- Provide health, fitness or technique advice to golfers
- Administer first aid
- Do anything you are uncomfortable with or have not been trained to do Benefits of volunteering

- Trafford Leisure can provide a job reference if you require Commitment Flexible. Volunteers are needed at any time the golf course is open, between 7am and 9pm on a weekday and 7am to 7pm on a weekend. Volunteers must be willing to complete online and in-person training for this role. They must be comfortable working outdoors in all weathers and provide their own suitable clothing and footwear.
