Full Job Description

Under the direction of senior staff, the Governance Administrator will provide general administrative and clerical support. The role will be varied and provide administrative support with various tasks, including:

- Reviewing website checks

- Liaising with schools for newsletter items

- Recruitment checks

- Policy updates

- Supporting new Academy Councillor induction

The role has a specific clerking responsibility, supporting Academy Council meetings in a number of our somerset schools. This will involve preparation and distribution of agendas/minutes, dealing with correspondence and maintaining records. Please note, these meetings are 2hrs in length and are held after school/early evening, so some work outside of the usual working day is to be expected. Each Academy Council meets once a term.

The successful candidate will have excellent administration skills including taking minutes and a high standard of attention to detail. They will also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be self-motivating and confident when working in a team or independently.

At all times, the post holder will be expected to work collaboratively with relevant colleagues to fulfil the requirements of the role and contribute positively to the effective running of the administration function within the team.

Whilst this role is offered on a hybrid basis, we will require weekly travel to an Academy in Weston-super-Mare, as well as regular travel to academies within the South West.
