Full Job Description

We are now recruiting an Governance Apprentice to support the Governance & Assurance Team to provide excellent governance administration services.

This is a home based role where there is no daily requirement to attend an office but it is expected that the successful candidates will attend the office when required for training, meetings and other team events.

Candidates will complete a Level 4 Governance Officer with the training provider 'CSA Ltd' as part of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities:

Meeting Administration

Assisting with meeting administration - creating draft agendas, informing colleagues of report deadlines, collating reports into the correct folder and checking they are in the correct template, setting up meetings on the board portal and issuing the papers, checking diary appointments and booking rooms where required.

Document Signing

Assisting with the document signing process by logging documents on the register and completing the cover sheets which accompany documents for signing. Attending the office on a weekly basis to assist with printing documents for signature and then scanning them back in once signed.

Policy

Assisting with the policy review process by checking the register and sending out reminders when policies are coming up for review, checking where policies need to be approved and loading updated policies onto the intranet.
Probity

Updating the gifts and hospitality registers.
Assisting with the declarations of interest process - requesting updates and checking all managers have made a declaration each year.

Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Able to communicate to a range of audiences through a multi-channel approach
Experience of working collaboratively and as part of a team
ICT skills, including MS Office and Excel.
Good numeracy and literacy skills - GCSEs Maths & English Grade C or 4 or above.
Skilled in the analysis of data.
Well organised, taking a methodical approach to tasks
Experience of meeting deadlines through self- motivation and organisational skills.
Experience of working on multiple projects and prioritising workload.
A Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car.
Desirable:

Knowledge of governance
Knowledge of the social housing sector

Qualifications:

Essential:

GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.

Desirable:

Degree level qualification
