Full Job Description

NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) values good governance to help us make good decisions and choices. We delegate much of our decision-making authority and resources to our five Places (Bradford District and Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield).

This role will work as part of a team of Governance Managers who are responsible for maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance within the West Yorkshire ICB and its five Places. Working with the Head of Corporate Governance and Head of Partnership Governance, the post holder will assist on issues relating to corporate governance and help to ensure the ICBs corporate affairs are undertaken and directed to the highest standards of probity and according to statutory and legislative requirements., To ensure that the West Yorkshire ICB Board, its committees and supporting meetings are properly constituted with clear terms of reference and business cycles and conduct their affairs in accordance with Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions, and the Scheme of Reservation and Delegation.

To establish effective systems for developing and managing the forward planning of the Board and each committee to support the achievement of the ICB and its five place partnerships strategic objectives and business plans.

To oversee all arrangements for production of committee papers, ensuring timely preparation and distribution of agendas, minutes and supporting papers for internal and external stakeholders. This involves capacity planning and organising a complex area of work.

To attend and minute meetings instructed; to assist in the conduct of the meeting and recording decisions and resolutions made.

To design, plan and deliver training to support the effective running of the Board and its committees.

To work alongside the Heads of Service to support the ongoing evolution and design of ICB and place-based partnership governance arrangements.

To develop appropriate policies and ensure that all ICB policies and procedures within the Corporate Governance portfolio are reviewed as required and are implemented.
