Full Job Description

Are you passionate about animal welfare? Do you have good understanding of governance procedures? We're looking for a Governance Officer to help us ensure we have a co-ordinated approach to governance and compliance.,

  • ensure the administration of governance processes is completed with accuracy and timeliness,
  • support with administration for governance projects and Board, committee, and subsidiary meetings, including agendas, paper deadlines, minutes and tracking actions,
  • track filing deadlines and compliance requirements for Dogs Trust and subsidiaries,
  • refine our policy development process, maintain the policy register and the Council member intranet, ensuring trustees have access to make effective decisions., Please note we're not responsible for the content of job ads, as they're posted by the recruiter.     To thrive in this role, you'll need exceptional administration skills, with the ability to organise information effectively, including organising high-level meetings, comprehensive minute-taking and following up on meeting actions. To achieve this, you'll need to be efficient and organised, with meticulous attention to detail. You'll also require a grasp of the governance process and it's mechanisms, such as understanding how Board appointments are made, what happens at Board meetings and importance of robust record keeping. Above all, a commitment to maintaining confidentiality is essential, as this role has access to sensitive information.
