Full Job Description

We are looking for a Governance Support Officer, who is passionate about ensuring high standards of governance. Here, at the New College Durham Academies Trust, you'll play a key role in supporting our Head of Governance. Your responsibilities will include providing vital administrative, organisational and procedural support to our committees, sub-committees and appeal panels. You'll be instrumental in preparing, collating and circulating committee documents, taking minutes of proceedings, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual with experience in note/minute taking and a strong ability to support committees. Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of formal committee conduct and recent experience of working in a governance or similar administration role. Or, possibly you are a recent graduate who are looking to progress to working in governance and support our organisation.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high level of accuracy under pressure. You should be flexible, with the ability to attend meetings outside of normal working hours, and have access to transport to attend meetings across the region. If you are resilient, adaptable and passionate about upholding high governance standards, we encourage you to apply.

You will benefit from a generous package with benefits, including 32 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, the LGPS-defined benefit pension scheme, free on-site parking and a variety of staff benefits and discounts.
