Full Job Description
A voluntary role, but hugely rewarding! Empower Learning Academy Trust governs 6 schools, in both primary and secondary settings, within the London Borough of Havering. All of our schools hold Good or Outstanding judgements by Ofsted with 4 schools being inspected within the last 18 months (3 Outstanding, 1 Good). If you are a professional with a passion for education, we invite you to consider joining one of our Governing bodies or our Trust Board. Our governance teams offer strategic guidance that includes:
- Working with other board members to plan the school / Trust's strategic direction.
- Overseeing the financial performance, ensuring money is well-spent
- Holding the Trust Executive or school leadership to account
- Challenging existing processes to drive school improvement We offer:
- the opportunity to make a real ongoing difference to learner's lives
- the opportunity to gain experience in a non- exec director-level position
- the chance to make a real difference for our children and community We are particularly keen to receive interest from individuals with Finance or Human Resources experience. You will need to commit to a minimum of six meetings per year. Whilst the role of a Trustee or Governor requires drive and commitment, you'll enjoy many professional and personal rewards, including career development opportunities and the chance to support our young people's future.
