Full Job Description

Wivenhoe surgery, a member practice of the Colte Partnership is looking to recruit a 6 session per week GP for 6 month maternity contract to start in April. We are happy to consider applicants with all levels of experience (newly qualified GP included). We have a registered list size of 9,100 patients of a mixed demographic. The practice has a Good rating with CQC and good QOF scores. The surgery is located within modern premises with on site parking. We are a friendly, welcoming and inclusive team with a focus on worklife balance and are fully engaged with other health providers (e.g. physiotherapy, mental health, midwife etc) for delivery of services from within our premises. We have a supportive clinical team on site with permanent GPs, advanced practitioners (nurses and paramedics) and practice nurses along with a pharmacist and other clinicians provided by our PCN. The admin team are fully trained in correspondence management.

The Colte Partnership is very much at the heart of primary care, being the largest GP Partnership in North East Essex; comprised of 8 local GP practices across Colchester and Tendring. We care for approx. 80,000 patients. Our head office is in Feering. We pride ourselves on working to be at the forefront of primary care in our region, and have many exciting ventures on the horizon. Each of our branches has its own character, and family friendly ethos, which is why our patients love coming to us (and tell us so in our regular patient surveys). However, being a large partnership means we can offer so much more than a local branch can by itself with specialist clinics, social prescribing and innovative support such as regular dementia cafes, armed forces support and even child first aid classes for parents. We strive to look after our employees as well, with generous annual leave, flexible and family friendly working, and support during difficult times such as free counselling.

Package and benefits:

  • Salary dependent upon experience
  • BMA model contract
  • NHS pension
  • 6 weeks annual leave and 1 week CPD
